We’ve been meeting regularly at Northfields Community Centre for quite a while, but it’s only just occurred to us that they have a garden there that needs a little love and attention!
It’s a nice, open space, with good light, that’s mostly laid to lawn at the moment, with a small garden planted by the Prince’s Trust in 2012. While the Prince’s Trust garden is a good start, there’s no plan for managing it in the longer term, so we are working to take this on, and enhance the rest of the space to an interesting, people- and wildlife-friendly garden, applying the principles we talk about at every meeting.
We’ve already had a bit of a dig and a weed, whilst we think about how we’ll change this area, but if you fancy getting involved, we’re meeting again from 10am on Tuesday 30th April – come along and see what we’re planning!
